Thank you for choosing Sterling Enrichment Center Child Care Training for your training needs, we hope you enjoy your educational experience!

Course Description / Objectives: Title: Accident and Illness

Credit Earned: Upon completion, 2 clock hours

The purpose of this course is to provide you with educational information on accidents and illness in a childcare setting. As you read through this course material, you will uncover and review many possible areas of risk. You will also learn different tips and ideas that can help minimize the risks of accidents and injuries at your center / school. While accidents may never be 100% preventable and dealing with illness is an inevitable certainty for every early childhood educator, the goal would be to minimize both.

By the end of this course, you should be able to:

● Identify the most common accidents that occur in a childcare setting and learn about different ways to reduce the risks in your center.

● Identify the most common illnesses for children, learning basic signs and symptoms as well as tips for prevention.

● Better understand what you can do to help avoid both accidents and illness. ● Take the information learned in this course to help build a better communication system with co-workers and parents by way of policies and procedures ● Successfully complete the course quiz / assessment that goes along with this material as well as any applied activities.

For this course to be considered complete, you must carefully read all course material and complete the course quiz / assessment. If you are earning clock hours only for your training, you do NOT need to mail your quiz in to be graded. It meets the state standards for self instructional material, that you may self instruct and self-exam. You MUST, however, be certain to answer every question and then attach your quiz to your certificate. Your certificate with quiz attached must then be placed in your employee file for licensing to review upon request. Licensing may request to view your training materials to verify successful completion and course content.
